Saturday 7th November - bike ***** - Felixstowe circuit including lunch at
Falkenham Church – sunny and still.
Woke to another sunny day here on the East Coast so after exercises, mend
my 7m sail then make a flask of homemade soup and set off on our bikes
around midday:) Took the usual route to Marsh Lane avoiding the heaving
prom, lockdown two is nowhere near as full on as the first! It is a perfect
day for a bike ride, sunny, still and mild as we pass the derelict house
coming out at Kings Fleet. Then up onto the Deben sea wall which is popular
with walkers and cyclists. Luckily most of the footpaths have dried out
from the recent rain, there are a few boats on the river plus some birds
including a fly pass of geese:) Taking the second turning across the fields
to our lunch spot favourite, Falkenham Church where a buzzard flow
overhead. After the yummy soup we took the bridle ways and footpaths to
Kirton, then down Grimston Lane to our favourite tree lined route back to
Felixstowe. Mag had picked up a thorn in her new tyres but the slime
innertubes worked instantly sealing the hole without having to pump it up:)
We pass the River Orwell as it become hazy but sadly no deer today. I then
continue through Felixstowe docks to the viewing point as Mag heads for
home. It was busy by the docks and along the prom and I was pleased to get
home as the sun had disappeared and the temperature had dropped! So another
top bike ride being out for 3 hours 30 minutes covering over 18 miles:)
